I’m tired, I’m worn

I have officially finished one of my college classes, everything is completed and handed in and I just need to wait to find out if i've passed.
Which means that now I have Wednesday's free to concentrate on other subjects and enjoy the lovely weather.

So today, after getting out of college early, Mel, Rhiannon and I had a meeting with an event organiser to find out about getting involved with a local festival. I think it's going to be pretty demanding but it's a great opportunity and it sounds really exciting.
We got to take a lovely scenic walk round the town too, which let us enjoy such a beautiful day.

When I arrived home I had this little package waiting for me, from What's in My Handbag.
I'm looking forward to giving it a try, especially with the better weather coming just now, because it has SPF 15. I'll let yous know what I think once i've tried it out.

I hope you're having a good week,
and I hope the weather's stays nice. x

Song of the day

Don't feed the fear.

I've had a kind of rough week, with essays and exams and personal stuff too.
My anxiety has been pretty high and it's taking it's toll on me.
I've got a big week coming up, with lots of new, daunting events on the horizon, and if I'm honest, I'm really scared about it.
However, I had a long phone call with my mum and she really helped me out. So instead of beating myself up for getting anxious, I'm trying to use the feeling to drive me forward.
You can't do anything about the past, but you can be in control of the present.

Here are Don Miguel Ruiz's 4 agreements for a better life.
I think if you look at life that way, then you can focus on what really matters and not get swept up in the small stuff.

The weather's lovely again today, I hope it's nice for you too. x

Did they tell you, you should grow up?

So it was my first official day working at The Red Cross today, still just getting trained up but I enjoyed it, everyone seems really nice.
The weather here is unbelieveable, I walked out the door and instantly regretted wearing a jacket because it is just so warm. I'm hoping it stays like this from now on.
I'm totally exhausted now but I've got yoga tonight so I'm going to have to eat a ton of fruit to get energy.

I made dinner for a change, southern fried (breaded) chicken salad.

I've started studying for my exam this week, one topic at a time and trying to get work done so I can hand it in and get finished early. I'm feeling a little bit anxious and nervous but I know once it's all over and I get to visit my family for a wee while, it'll be worth it.

I hope you've had a good start to the week x

More freebies and new purchases

So I got a sample of new L'oreal Nude Magique CC Cream.
 photo DSCF5567_zpsaa15e231.jpg photo DSCF5568_zps4dc10924.jpg
There are 3 types of the creme;
Apricot, which "revives the look of tired skin"
Green, which "helps neutralise the appearance of redness"
and Mauve, which "transforms the look of dull skin"
and they have a new BB Magic creme out too which is advertised as the "1st self-adjusting BB creme."

The sample I got was of the 'Green' creme and the BB cream. I tend to have a bit of redness on my cheeks and nose so I'm hoping it will help with that, I'm going to give them both a try and then do a review.

We also bought a new pots and pan set because Scott's has had the old set for over 2 years and he used them while he lived in halls and Uni so they're absolutely wrecked. The new set is red, which I love and they're all pretty and clean and I'm very excited about trying them all out.

Scott cooks a lot and he loves cooking so it was important for him to have good equipment to work with. It was only £30 for the whole set which isn't too bad but we hope that they will last us a long time.

Films I'm excited about seeing this year.

Hangover Part 3 by Todd Phillips
Released in May

I'm not a huge fan of the Hangover films but I have seen the previous two, my favorite thing about them and the main reason I want to see the final one is that I love Ken Jeong. I think he's a great actor, he's so funny and I just really enjoy seeing him on screen. Also I kind of want to find out how they wrap the whole story up.

Fast and Furious 6 by Justin Lin
Released in May

Again, I'm not a huge Fast and Furious fan and I think i've only seen 4 of the previous films but the reason that I want to see the new one is because I'm obsessed with action films right now. I never really have been in the past but for some reason i'm really into them now, so I'm excited about seeing this as it promises to be really action-packed. Plus, I feel in love with Vin Diesel when he did a recent interview on Jonathan Ross, and I'm still a fan of The Rock from my WWE phase.

Star Trek: Into Darkness by J.J. Abrams
Out in May

Not a Trekkie, the only Star Trek I ever watched was with my dad when I was growing up and I watched the previous film with him last year so it has a fond place in my heart but I don't know nearly enough about it to be considered a Trekkie. I'm looking forward to the new film because of the brilliant cast, I've heard that it's very well written and like I said before, I'm quite into action films right now and they say this one has plenty of action.

The Young and Prodigious Spivet by Jean-Pierre Jeunet

Out in October.

I love Jean-Pierre Jeunet films, he's one of my favorite writers/directors of all time, I think he makes the most beautiful movies and I just adore them. Thats why I was very excited to hear that he has a new film coming out this year and it has a lot of my favorite actors in it. I'm sure it won't disappoint and because it's in English, unlike his most famous previous films, I'm hoping it'll introduce a bigger audience to his films and directing style and they'll watch and appreciate the other movies he's made.

Syrup by Aram Rappaport

Out in May

I've heard a lot of hype about this film and I'm excited to see if it can live up to it's reputation. Plus,  it's said to promote a lot of feminist ideology, which I love, and it's about advertising, PR and marketing which are three of my main subjects at college so I'll be interested to watch that and hopefully get some tips, ehe.

Monsters University by Dan Scanlon

Released in June

This is highly anticipated I think, there have been rumours about this film for many years following Monsters Inc. which is one of my favorite animated films of all time, (the themesong is my ringtone.) It's meant to be really funny, cute, clever, and generally just a feel-good film and I think you need one of those from time to time.

This is the End by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen
Out in June

Obviously this film's greatest credit is the star studded cast. It has a lot of great comedic actors and so I have high hopes that it'll be a really funny film. I generally steer clear of apocalypse films because they bring out a lot of my anxiety but I think i'll be making an exception for this one purely because I've heard a lot of good things about it. I mean, I doubt it'll win an Oscar but I think it'll be pretty funny. I hope, anyway.

Anchorman 2 by Adam McKay
Out in December

How many years have we been waiting for this? Too many, I say. The legend that is Ron Burgundy is back. Will Ferrell is one of my favorite comedic actors, I can quote almost every line from the original Anchorman, Step Brothers, The Other Guys and Elf. His humour is just spot-on for me, and I adore Steve Carell too. I'm really excited about this but because the first one is just so well known and so well loved, I'm really really hoping that they can do it justice with the sequel.

Admission by Paul Weitz
Out in March

I'm a big comedy fan as you can probably tell from the films above and one of my favorite comedic actors and all round awesome women is Tina Fey. Apparently this film takes Tina out of her comfort zone a little bit so I'm excited to see how that will pan out. Plus, with Paul Rudd as what I assume is her love interest, it has all the ingredients to be a good old-fashioned heartwarmer.

The Bling Ring by Sofia Coppola
Released in June

Sofia Coppola, also one of my all time favorite directors, has this film coming out in the summer. The fact it's written and directed by her is what sealed the deal for me because I'm not a huge Emma Watson fan, but maybe I will be after this. Although it's not the genre that Coppola usually does I'm hoping it maintains her unique cinematic charm. I've heard good things about it online so I'm really hoping it will live up to her previous movies.

Frances Ha by Noah Baumbach
Released in May

It's an awkward, indie, black and white comedy. I mean, what more could you want? This film appeals to my artistic side because it's meant to show the painfully funny and painfully heartbreaking aspects of real life and what it is to be a woman. I've never heard of the director before so I don't have too high expectations but I'm hoping it'll be good. I think this will be a good one to watch for inspiration as I'm beginning video production at College. I like that it's a little bit quirky, and yeah, I'm just quite looking forward to it.

There are a few more but I fear that this post is getting too long, maybe i'll do a PART 2 post once I've finished watching some of these.

Let me know what you're excited to see, or if you've seen/heard about any of these.
I hope you had a good week and you have a fun weekend.

Hair moodboard

My fringe is at that annoying length where it's in my face a lot and I don't know what to do with it. Usually at this point of growing it out, I get annoyed and give up and just go get it cut into a full fringe again. But I really want to try to grow it out properly this time.
Seeing as it's coming into spring/summer and it's less acceptable for me to wear a wooly hair every day, I thought i'd try to be a little more adventurous with my hair.

Here are a few of the hairstyles that I'm hoping to give ago
 photo hair1_zps2cf93727.jpg photo hair2_zps0e960a1c.jpg photo hair6_zpse6af8bb3.jpg photo hair3_zps79e51b47.jpg photo hair4_zps1a87ee86.jpg photo hair5_zpsbf0b674f.jpg
I'm hoping that if I put a bit more effort into my hair styles then i'll hate my hair less, then i'll want to take care of it more, and i'll be less inclined to cave and chop it all off.
